What Muscles Do Dumbbells Workouts Stimulate?
A common question that I get asked a lot from new lifters is, "What muscles do dumbbell workouts stimulate?" It's actually pretty simple to answer this question. When I was a new lifter, I made this mistake very quickly. I would do dumbbell workouts for my shoulders and triceps, but not for my chest. If you were going to build a huge, powerful chest, then you needed to include exercises that focused on the chest.
Dumbbells aren't the only piece of workout equipment that can be used to help build a powerful chest. You can also use free weights or heavy gym machines for your upper body. But I don't like the idea of messing with free weights because they're so hard to control. I prefer gym machines because I can put the weight of the dumbbells on a machine and move the weights around on the fly while keeping my body centered with each movement. And since I use dumbbells for most of my upper body workouts, the dumbbells are really the best option for me.
